2.3 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this
specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification
shall take precedence.
3.
REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Description. The sprayer shall be frame mounted to include carrying
handles and hand crank hose reel mounted to the frame. The sprayer shall be
pressurized by a piston-type pump that will be on the frame with the sprayer and
shall be driven by a gasoline powered engine. The frame mounted sprayer system
shall also include a pulsation dampening device, spray gun assembly, pressure
relief valve, by-pass hose, suction hose with strainer, discharge hose, and
engine fuel tank. A liquid reservoir tank will not be includes in the sprayer
system. The weight of the sprayer and all components shall not exceed 300
pounds.
3.2 First article. when specified (see 6.2), the contractor shall furnish
sample unit(s) for first article inspection and approval (see 4.3 and 6.4).
3.3 Material. All pesticide conveying parts shall be made of stainless
steel, nylon, polyethylene, viton, polytetrafluroethylene, or other suitable
corrosion resistant materials. Material not definitely specified shall be of
best quality used for the purpose in commercial practice for similar
applications. Material shall be free from all defects and imperfections that
might affect the serviceability of the finished product (see 6.7).
3.4 Identical items. All sprayer units furnished under a specific contract
shall be physically and mechanically identical, in that all parts, components,
