4. Tips. Tips shall be suitable to apply bait material in discrete quantities as little as 1 drop (0.05 mL) or capable of laying a strip or bead 2.381millimeters wide. Tips shall be provided in 2 types; metal for normal use and plastic (non-conductive material) for use around electrical circuits and equipment.
5. Carrying case and holster. When specified, each applicator shall be provided with a transport case and a belt-mounted holster. The applicator, with tips, five reservoirs with a volume of 150 mL, shall fit into the transport case; the holster does not. The belt-mounted holster shall holster the applicator and 2 reservoirs of 30 mL each minimum of bait material. The holster shall be designed for mounting on a 2-inch wide belt. The belt is not provided with the kit.
6. Color. To reduce the chances of the mistaken appearance of a firearm the applicator and reservoirs shall be of bright colors other than black, brown, green or silver as specified in the contract.
7. Workmanship. The finished applicators shall be clean and free from burrs, slivers, sharp edges, or rough die, tool gouge or grind marks. Holes for bolts screws, rivets, or threaded fasteners shall be accurately punched or drilled. Rivets shall be tight with the heads in full contact with riveted members. The parts shall mate properly without excessive play. There shall be no defects that affect appearance or serviceability.
8. Comparability. Applicators and reservoirs provided shall be equal and comparable to products provided by Specialty Products, Inc., a Division of EFD, Inc.
Quality assurance provisions.
1. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Unless disapproved by the Government, except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein.
2. Responsibility for compliance. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as quality conformance inspection for compliance.
3. Quality conformance inspection. The quality conformance inspection shall be performed on sample applicators and reservoirs selected in accordance with the inspection lot and sampling requirements specified in the contract. This inspection shall include examination and operational tests as specified herein.
4. Inspection lot. All units offered to the Government at one time shall be considered a lot for purposes of inspection. A sample unit shall be one complete applicator with reservoirs with a combined volume of 200 mL of bait material.
5. Examination. Each sample selected in accordance with the inspection lot and sampling requirements shall be examined for compliance with the salient characteristics requirements specified herein. This element of inspection shall
