APPLICATOR, BAIT, INSECTICIDE
The General Services Administration has authorized use of this commercial item description.
Abstract. This commercial item description (CID) covers an applicator for applying controlled. Amounts of insecticide bait. The applicator is manually operated with one hand and operates on the same principle as the construction caulking gun.
Salient characteristics.
1. Requirements. The applicator shall meet the requirements specified herein. It shall be capable of applying viscous or paste bait formulations. The applicator shall as a minimum consist of a body with a handle, a pumping lever (trigger), and a plunger attached to a guide rod for pushing the bait material out of the reservoir. The body shall provide for attaching the bait reservoir. The applicator shall use removable prefilled or refillable bait reservoirs. The applicator shall be made of durable material and provide sufficient leverage to easily dispense the bait material. Clean shutoff of the bait material without dripping or oozing is required. A carrying case and holster shall be provided when specified.
2. Material. The applicator shall be constructed of for durability and strength. The reservoirs shall be electrically non-conductive material.
3. Reservoir. Five reservoirs shall hold at least 30 milliliters (mL) each of bait material and shall be provided with the applicator. The reservoir shall be easily removable from the applicator body to allow reloading the applicator with another type of bait material on site. Two additional reservoirs shall be provided containing 30 mL each of bait material when the holster is provided for a total of 210 mL of bait material.
