COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DUSTER, MANUALLY-OPERATED
TUBULAR-PUMP MANUALLY CARRIED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
commercial item description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) establishes the government acquisition
requirements for hand-operated tubular pump insecticide dusters. Dusters are intended for pest and
disease control operations in and around military and civilian facilities (offices, dining facilities,
warehouses, farms, and rodent burrows).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Description. The dusters shall be capable of expelling all of the powder or granules, except
residual surface dust, from the pesticide container. The dusters shall be of industrial strength and quality
and be commensurate with other similar items offered commercially for industrial use.
2.2 Material.
2.2.1 The material used in the construction of the dusters shall be as specified herein. Material not
specified shall be selected by the contractor and shall be subject to all provisions of this specification.
2.2.2 Material shall be free from all defects and imperfections that might affect the serviceability of the
finished product. Material shall be of sufficient mass and quality to provide adequate strength in design
to insure safe and leak-free operation.
